SDS' Advanced Technologies Division (ATD), Orlando, Florida, specializes in cutting edge Simulation and Training Technologies and Services, including PC-based, real-time scene visualization (visual / sensor), rapid database generation, 3D modeling, AI-driven constructive simulation, PC-based simulators, test-beds and distributed systems. With extensive military, engineering, programming and graphic artist experience, the division's personnel perform extensive research and development (R&D), routinely transition industry-leading products from R&D to fielded systems, and provide expert simulation architecture, image generation and database generation technical assistance to government agencies and commercial clients.
ATD personnel have extensive experience in system requirements analysis, design, development, testing, fielding and support of a variety of both stand-alone and distributed training systems and subsystems. As a prime contractor, we have developed and delivered a number of PC-based, high-fidelity, flight / ground simulators (both manned and unmanned systems) to USAF, Air National Guard (ANG), USN, foreign military and university customers. Key host simulation product lines include SDS' LiteFlite® manned aircraft simulators; ROVATTS™ unmanned systems simulators; and AAcuity®-Hero First Person Shooter (FPS) ground-based simulations. Our ROVATTS™ -based MQ-1 / MQ-9 Mission Training Devices (MTD) support a variety of stand-alone and Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) research training and exercise applications.
In addition to our host simulation experience, we have also developed, delivered and integrated our high-fidelity AAcuity® PC-Image Generator (IG) for use on a variety of military and commercial training systems involved in space, flight (manned / unmanned), ground (J-TAC / soldier-centered) and maritime-based training applications.
SDS recently added its LIFE-based constructive simulation capability, providing highly-realistic, IG-independent, AI-driven scene content (aircraft, vehicles, humans, animals and special effects) for tactical ISR, airborne weapons delivery, and ground / maritime-based R&D and training simulation realism.
From an R&D perspective, we have been heavily involved in the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program resulting in development of a variety of simulation capabilities, plus we have extensive experience supporting a number of research facilities, including various components of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). In addition, using our AAcuity®-Hero FPS simulation as the baseline, we developed, installed and support an entire virtual test-bed capable of demonstrating overall system capability, measuring technical performance measures and partially validating hardware and software sub-system functional testing at the US Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC).
