AAcuity® PC-IG systems are designed to provide low-cost, high-fidelity PC-based scene generation for flight, space, ground and sea-based training applications as replacements to current IGs or as the core scene manager for effective training on evolving training systems.  AAcuity® IGs are optimized to run virtually any OpenFlight, Paging OpenFlight, and TerraPage database ensuring maximum cost effectiveness through reuse of existing databases and commonality with other simulations during Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities.  Furthermore, AAcuity® is designed to seamlessly operate using terrains built with SDS’ GeoSource-RTB Rapid Terrain Generation tool to support area-specific training, pre-deployment familiarization and mission rehearsal activities where cost-effective, timely (within hours) production of high-fidelity, geo-specific databases is required.

 

AAcuity® is a state-of-the-art PC-IG system fully capable of providing 60+ Hz performance for typical flight applications with synchronized, multiple out-the-window (OTW) channels on numerous displays using commodity-level COTS PCs—all while portraying large area (500+ x 500+ NM) paging photo-realistic geo-specific databases, fully-articulated models, day/night scenes, realistic weather, variable time-of-day/wind effects, light-points, sensors (NVG/IR with added sensor module) and advanced particle-based special effects.  AAcuity® also provides physics-based per-pixel lighting (lighting sources include sun-directional, point and spot); real-time dynamic shadows that shadow terrain, other objects and their own surfaces; detail texturing and bump-mapping; moving trees and grass; real-time damaging of 3D MOUT buildings and directional terrain cratering; and 3D oceans with sea-states 1-6, complete with surface reflections and translucency.  AAcuity® also supports its dismounted infantry for ground-based applications.

 

AAcuity® software operates on a number of hardware platforms, operating systems and rendering libraries driving monitors, flat-panel displays and projectors ranging from low-cost LCDs and DLPs, to high-end Barcos and SONY’s high-resolution SRX-R110 projectors.  Additionally, AAcuity® IGs support multiple resolutions (currently up to 2048x1536) with NVIDIA hardware and appropriate monitors or projection systems.

AAcuity® was selected by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Mesa, AZ as the first PC-IG suitable for use on their high-fidelity F-16 Viper DMO simulations.  AAcuity® IGs are also currently used on all Meggitt Training Systems (formally FATS) training systems, a number of Forward Air Control training systems including the Indirect Fire-Forward Air Control Trainer (I-FACT) and SOCOM’s Special Operations Air Ground Interface Simulator (SAGIS).


AAcuity® IGs currently provide high-fidelity visualization for SDS’ LiteFlite® Reconfigurable Simulators, ROVATTS Unmanned Vehicle System (UVS) Simulators and Hero-FPS (First Person Shooter).  AAcuity® PC-IGs have been integrated with a variety of military simulation hosts and are in use today by the US military, foreign militaries, and various commercial and academic customers for space, flight, ground and sea-based training applications.
